Warren Linn will be handling vetting nominees for the Grainger Marburg Traveling Scholarship this year, given to one graduating senior student for a maximum of $4,000.($1,000 more than years previous).
The Illustration Dept can nominate 5 seniors this year. Students interested in pursuing this travel scholarship and be considered for nomination need to start thinking about travel related to their work, or a specific project linked to and/or inspired by a specific place or places, and contact Warren this week at warrenlinn@gmail.com
He will hold an informational session in the IL Office to review the requirements for applying students this Friday 2.20.09 at 4:30pm.
He can schedule an alternative time with students having schedule conflicts. Please note that the deadline for the Department putting forward the names of 5 nominees is March 1, so we must hear from you NOW if you are interested. The completed application is due May 1, 2009.
Nominations are to be based on the students' outstanding studio work and academic record. These students should also have a keen interest in traveling to make artwork in another region, either in the U.S. or overseas, and the potential for the experience to positively impact their art.
Warren will work with nominees to develop their proposals and meet the deadline for their final application.
