And your instructions for your final paper:
Final Writing Assignment
You will prepare a final paper, 3-5 pages in length. You will choose an artist (s) from the 2nd half of the class- that is- from the 1920’s on, but someone that was covered in our class, either by me or one of the student presentations that you believe in some way influences, informs, or inspires the work you do. You will write the paper using several illustration samples from that artist and perhaps from your own work to make your case.
The paper will be properly referenced, citing sources, both on-line and from books, periodicals, etc., for both background materials and/or from where your visual samples were taken. In thinking about this, the artist you choose does not have to work exactly like you do, or even have a similarity in style necessarily, however some aspect of their career, their thinking, their approach should inform what you do, or aspire to do. This paper will be due on December 13, 2010.
