The MICA Undergraduate Illustration Department, Joseph Meyerhoff Center for Career Development, and the Department of Alumni Relations are bringing four esteemed MICA Illustration Alumni back to have a discussion on what it's really like after graduation. This roundtable discussion will be held in Brown 320 on Thursday, March 24th from 2pm-4pm. Our alumni guests are:
-Alyssa Nassner -Illustration '10: Alyssa has begun a small business called Small
Talk Studio which specializes in fun home goods and paper products and
her clients include:
Mars Supermarkets, Chronicle Books, Dwell Studio, UPPERCASE Magazine,
Weldon Owen, Private Eyes Undies, Ink Garden, Canadian Family Magazine,
Maryland Institute College of Art, MTA Baltimore. Alyssa has also had
exhibitions including the Post-It Show at Giant Robot 2010, Illustration
Next at Case[werks] 2010.
-Annie Wu-Illustration '10: Annie's work has been recognized by Spectrum
17, the Society of Illustrators 2009 Student Competition, American
Illustration TRIBUTE, and Adult Swim for a few weird seconds. Clients
include DC Comics, ELLE Magazine, Lacrosse Magazine, Coca-Cola Brazil
and others.
-Jess Neil-Illustration '08: Jess is currently working as a graphic designer for
Anthropologie in Philadelphia, previously she worked for Spur Design in Baltimore, MD.
-Sam Bosma-Illustration '09: Sam's work has been featured in Society of
Illustrators Annual, Spectrum, American Illustration (all award
competitions), and his illustrations have been in The New Yorker,
PlanSponsor, Seattle Weekly, Gulf Life, Cicada, Muse and more.
Both sections of Senior Seminar will be attendance for this event, but there will be at least 25 more seats available for any MICA students who would like to attend. See you Thursday!
